Rumors and the "Security and Renaissance"

: Dr. Adel Reda

The Gulf region has been experiencing difficult days with the developments of international events and the repercussions of the Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. All Gulf countries have taken an honorable stance rejecting the aggression and criminal Zionist arrogance. This is evident in the condemnation statements issued by them. The GCC states also reject being a launching pad for any aggression or a corridor used by our Zionist enemies.

In light of all these major developments, the importance of official media has become apparent in revealing the facts, consolidating positions, and preventing the creation of deviant opinions outside the general context, thus preventing waves of rumors and misleading fake news.

Furthermore, the constant and real figure has been reaffirmed at every crisis and critical juncture we face as "countries" and "peoples": rallying around the political leadership, state institutions, and their legal framework on the ground. We, too, within the foreign policy of our country, Kuwait, are famous for our "wisdom" and "commitment" to the issues of the nation and our authentic Arab line.

Rumors play a dangerous role against "state security," especially since they are characterized by sensationalism and unsubstantiated stories. These can be unintentionally spread by naive people, while others may unwittingly volunteer to republish and distribute them without awareness or foresight.

Rumors are fake news or unconfirmed information that spreads quickly among people. They are often sensational or sensational, and lack a reliable source.

Rumors can have a significant impact on the state and society, as they can incite panic, undermine trust in institutions, and influence political and social decisions.

Rumors play a dangerous role in destabilizing and undermining confidence in the state and may lead to chaos—God forbid—and weaken social cohesion.

Therefore, the role of state security and media institutions is vital, and it is imperative to take an iron fist with the "law" against promoters and sources of dissemination and publication.

We, as “the people of the Gulf,” have also discovered, in the wake of these recent events, that the duality of “security and renaissance” can only be achieved by embarking on the path of creating Gulf unity. The people of the Gulf will only be protected by their own people and countries, along with their own capabilities. Therefore, we must prioritize the interests of our countries and the interests of our Arab Gulf nationalism over everything else
